All profits and proceeds from this album on Bandcamp and elsewhere (iTunes, Amazon, etc..) through January 2014 went towards typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda relief efforts in the Philippines, via Gawad Kalinga (translates to “Give Care’), a Philippine-based poverty-alleviation and nation-building movement/non profit-organization. - Thanks for being part of the effort!
1. I have a lot of friends from the Philippines who are working in Singapore - they are some of the kindest and most giving people you'll ever meet, and this is a chance for me to give back to them. This is an opportunity for you to get some great music for the holidays while helping people who really need it.
2. Gawad Kalinga has a very wide and deep reach in the Philippines. Their capacities include relief operation and rehabilitation, which will be more sustainable for the Philippine economy in the long run.
3. The reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts need assistance just as much as relief work does: this is the stage that usually doesn't get much help after the rescue/relief efforts are over. This has been true for the earthquake victims of the October 2013 7.2-magnitude earthquake that hit the central region of the Philippines, a double whammy for some towns as they were hit also by the typhoon after not even a month had passed.
